Nokia showcases innovations for a more productive, sustainable and inclusive world at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates : Nokia today announced that it is demonstrating advanced technologies including 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence and augmented reality / virtual reality at Expo 2020 Dubai for six months from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. As part of the Finnish Pavilion, Nokia is showcasing several use cases that make society more productive, safer and more sustainable for everyone. The demonstrations are in line with the UAE government’s vision of building a green economy for sustainable development.
Nokia’s demo of the LuxTurrim Smart Pole shows how the pole can be used for a range of smart city use cases such as Covid awareness detection, weather / air quality monitoring, smart lighting , infotainment, public safety and more. The smart pole is an ergonomic and compact solution that integrates a 5G base station, sensors, video cameras and other devices into a light pole. Additionally, Nokia is showcasing a hologram using 5G technology to remotely transmit messages from Nokia executives in Finland to visitors to the exhibition on specific dates to be booked in advance.
At Expo 2020 Dubai, where more than 180 countries are participating in the region’s premier global exhibition, Nokia’s demonstrations cover several key areas, including critical communications, public safety, autonomous transportation, healthcare and education, among others. Finland, one of the happiest nations in the world, according to the UN World Happiness Report, has chosen the theme of sharing future happiness for its pavilion, and in this pavilion, Nokia is demonstrating technologies that help create a more sustainable, equitable and happier world.
